Success Factors

What is the difference between successful people on non-successful people? Are successful people more intelligent or do they just have better opportunities than non-successful people?
I heard Brian Tracy say, "Only Difference between successful people and non successful people is this:
"Everybody thinks about what they want, but successful people think about what they want, and HOW to get it!"
The most important things is the HOW.
The only way I ever accomplish anything is to figure out what it is I want, then how I am going to get it. Ever since wrestling, my life has been driven by goals and what I want in life, the only way I ever achieve anything is by laying out a plan and working on that plan until I accomplish it.
Another way to look at it is to start backwards, think of the house you want to live in, the cars you want to drive, the lifestyle you want your family to live. You have to lay out a game plan to get their, it is not going to miracously show up on your door step someday. This means each day of your life you need to be doing at least one thing that will help you accomplish that goal.
I love how Robert Kiyosaki explains this concept in his book "Rich Dad Poor Dad":
"Because I had two influential fathers, I learned from both of them. I had to think about each dad's advice, and in doing so, I gained valuable insight into the power and effect of one's thoughts on one's life...

For example, one dad had a habit of saying, "I can't afford it." The other dad forbade those words to be used. He insisted I say, "How can I afford it?"
One is a statement, and the other is a question. One lets you off the hook, and the other forces you to think. My soon-to-be-rich dad would explain that by automatically saying the words "I can't afford it," your brain stops working. By asking the question "How can I afford it?" your brain is put to work. He did not mean buy everything you wanted. He was fanatical about exercising your mind, the most powerful computer in the world. "My brain gets stronger every day because I exercise it. The stronger it gets, the more money I can make." He believed that automatically saying "I can't afford it" was a sign of mental laziness."
So remember, the question isn't what you want… It's HOW are you going to get it?

Making the transition to Entrepreneur

Probably the biggest change you have to deal with when you decide to start your own Home Business is the change of going from from being an “employee” to being your own “boss”. This is sometimes very difficult for those becoming a self-employed entrepreneur. But it is a crititcal step on your way to true freedom. We have been conditioned from youth(mainly by our parents and the school sytem) to be an employee, to always work hard for money, and to be dependent not only on a paycheck, but a paycheck that someone else controls. Instead of always working for money, it is far better to have your money working for you. By investing in a Home Business you are on your way. It may seem risky to start on the path to becoming an entrepreneur, but it is actually riskier to to be too dependent on your job as your sole surce of income. Perhaps keeping your regular job while building your Home Business is the answer. Go to your local small business center for support and information. There are always flyers, newsletters and helpful staff members to assist.

Also be sure to get involved in networking groups. Their meetings are either formal or casual, and small or Home business owners can share stories and experiences. This tool should not be underestimated. It can create partnerships that will benefit each business owner. In fact these partnerships can actually be your primary source success in the long run. f you are starting a Home business, you should do a lot of research and see if the particular product or service or type of business is feesible in your area. Of course, not every Home Business (or any kind of business for that matter) is successful right away. It takes a great deal of work, determination and tenacity with precious little reward at first, and some will eventually fail. But you cannot be worried about failing or making mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn, and it is learning from our mistakes that will help us make the transition to being a business owner with a strong cash flow and many options in life. For those of you who have a burning desire to have your own successful Home Business, the road to success will be a satisfying one indeed. Because for once in your life, your blood, sweat and tears will be working to make yourself rich, instead of someone else..

Keys to being a successful Entrepreneur

Like any business venture, a home business requires a considerable amount of time and resources if you want it to really take off. If you have chosen to start a Home Business, you have decided control your own destiny and become self employed rather than being dependent on a paycheck and false job security. There are not too many "safe and secure" jobs any more. That way of thinking needs to be updated. The world has changed and globalization has altered the rules. Just as depending exclusively on Social Security and medicare is an idea who's time is past, the playing field betwwen employees and individuals who own their own business has also changed.

To be a truly successful Home Business or Small Business entrepreneur requires professionalism. Whether working from your basement or a home office, you should always work the same way as if you were in an expensive office building in Downtown Manhatten. This work ethic or philosophy will mean a lot to your eventual success and to the respect you recieve. Good habits mean a lot over time. You should set long term goals, take a few risks and remember the old adage, "Early to bed, early to rise, work like a dog and advertise". Always accept personal responsibility for everything in your personal and business life and use all the resources at your disposal to achieve success. It is important to realize that success comes mainly from educating yourself, tenacity, lots of hard work and a good, workable plan. If you really want to take your Home Business venture to the next level, to really see it take off in a big way, you need to ultimately learn some sales basics or perhaps hire or partner with someone who already knows sales. No one is born a salesperson, it is a learned skill just like anything else. Sales is really a profession, and to be successful in any profession you must learn the basics and practice them. Success in sales makes use of all the abilities your born with, as well as some that are acquired through education and experience. Any time spent educationing yourself in this area will be time well spent. Buy or check out a Zig Ziglar book for starters. Be persistent and success will eventually find you!
